Have developed a radical and revolutionary UAS rotorcraft unlike any currently on market. This is NOT an industry standard "quad" configuration but rather a saucer-domed designed craft with a patented drive and lift system positioned away from the center vertical line of the craft. This drive and lift system creates much greater lift than comparable sized "quads" and "multi-boom" configs and draws significantly less power ( 1583 watts at full hover with a 12.7 lb load. ) Our flying prototype has successfully been tested in three free flights, one with no payload, one with a 5 lb payload and one with a 12.7 lb payload. The craft empty weighs approx. 16 lbs. but can easily lift beyond its weight. ( not tested for that load ) The saucer-domed design allows for any payloads, (ISR and other ) to be contained within the craft and immune to weather effects. "Quad" configs must have any payloads hanging exposed below the craft. This current prototype is ideal for scaling either larger or smaller depending on use case and mission set. The only development yet to be achieved is the perfecting of its flight control system. I estimate this prototype to be at the TRL 6 level at this point. This platform would be ideal for a myriad of Navy mission sets, particularly deployed form at sea ships to act as an unmanned surveillance platform, ASW misssion or varied air mission sets requiring deployment of varying ISR packages. Finally, this platform can be deployed in either a leatherette or un-tethered mode.
