Lift Aircraft Inc. is currently in the final stages of developing an electrically-powered, vertical takeoff and landing capable aircraft called "HEXA". It is an optionally piloted, cargo or single seat aircraft that is compliant with FAA Part 103 ultralight vehicle rules for civilian operations. HEXA has an empty weight of 432 pounds (including the 133 pounds of batteries), a useful load of 220 pounds for an operator or cargo, a range of 10 nautical miles, and an operating time of about 18 minutes. Over the course of Lift’s internal developmental test campaign, multiple HEXA’s have been built, and accumulated over 1,000 flights.
