ES3 has a number of business focus areas predominately in Sustainment Technologies for DoD assets. Many of the technologies have been developed under SBIR contracting and transitioned successfully to support the DoD.
SYSTEM DESIGN & REDESIGN
ES3 designs, prototypes, tests, validates, and sells new component and new system product lines. Additionally, we accept contract and purchase orders to redesign components, assemblies, and systems to improve performance capabilities, reliability, maintainability, safety, or life cycle costs.
LANDING GEAR
ES3 provides technical expertise in all aspects of landing gear systems research, test and evaluation, design and analysis, repair and maintenance. ES3 staff has an exceptional history and understanding of landing gear issues, problem components, and promising technologies.
STRUCTURAL HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEMS
Since 2012, ES3 has been developing landing gear Structural Health Monitoring Systems (SHMS) in collaboration with the US Navy, US Air Force, commercial operators and an OEM. Today, ES3 has successfully tested our system on four fixed wing and rotorcraft platforms. We have performed qualification tests, completed flight test/certification on one aircraft, and delivered production units that are currently fielded and performing well on operational aircraft.
AIRCRAFT STRUCTURES:
ES3 performs aircraft system tear down, Non-Destructive Inspections (NDI), and Analytical Condition Inspections of all major structural components and skins on fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Such experience enables us to successfully design, test and qualify improvements which include structural design modifications, new repair inspection techniques, new repair techniques, and implementation of new materials and material coatings for aircraft structures.
WHEELS, BRAKES, and ANTISKID
ES3 has an integrated team of mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and logisticians performing research and development, test and evaluation, as well as performance qualification of new wheel, brake, and antiskid configurations. We provide an array of wheel and brake system integration services to aircraft operators.
ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES
ES3 is committed to reducing the environmental impact of aviation. Our advances in coatings, electroplating, stripping, and dimensional restoration are reducing the hazardous waste of production processing while also reducing the hazardous exposure of aerospace industry workers, aviation maintenance crews, and the communities that support aerospace operations and production. This includes technologies which enable Chrome Replacement, Cadmium replacement, and Chemical Free Stripping Techniques.
TESTING, DIAGONOSTICS, and ANALYSIS
ES3 staff have vast experience in completing fatigue, static, and dynamic analyses and tests using state- of-the-art software and hardware to evaluate component or system designs/redesigns as well as measure in-service loads and predict failures for aircraft integrity and prognostic evaluations. Our experience enables us to design and implement customized analyses and tests to isolate issues and support development and deployment of system and component solutions.
PARTS SUPPLY
ES3 staff are working with the Defense Logistics Agency and the US Air Force to address challenges in the landing gear supply chain. We are working to expand the industrial base of qualified landing gear part suppliers including small business suppliers. We are working to clean up the part data on fabrication drawings. We are addressing the bureaucratic impediments in the procurement process that hinder part suppliers’ ability to improve part quality, reduce production lead times, and speed up delivery and payment schedules.
CONTRACTING
ES3 provides products and services to US and non-US companies and universities, US federal government agencies such as DoD and NASA, US state agencies, and foreign militaries via the following contract vehicles: Published price list, OASIS, ASTRO, GSA Schedules, USN Seaport-e, Navy EPaS, OTAs
