Company Profile

TGV Rockets, Inc.

TGV Rockets is a merchant supplier of liquid propulsion to the small launch and small satellite community. In the pursuit of this goal, TGV has developed engineering expertise in a variety of facilitating technologies. Among these, TGV believe's the art of additive manufacturing - specifically ultrasonic additive manufacturing (UAM) should be of interest to NAVAIR.

As opposed to early-generation additive manufacturing using powdered metals, UAM uses metal tape to bond both like and dissimilar metals at an atomic level using focused sound. One of NAVAIR's key roles is to : "Develop, acquire and support aircraft, weapons and related systems which can be operated and sustained at sea"

TGV with UAM is exceptionally well suited to support NAVAIR in this role.

UAM machinery can be optimally sized to use on vessels that support both fixed and rotary wing manned and unmanned NAVAIR operations and maintenance while in port or at sea. Because it uses sound to weld there is no flame or hazardous gasses involved in the bonding process.

UAM represents an entirely new way to approach vehicle maintenance and repair. It has been proven highly effective in repairing cracks in all types of metal metal - cracks both large and small and is uniquely suited to thin plate aerospace structure repair.

UAM is extremely flexible; it has been proven capable of successfully bonding dissimilar metals, should same-substance patching be neither practical nor advisable.

Additionally:

TGV's engineering team has devised a novel design for a low-cost variably sized drone. The novelty in this system comes from the design goal to keep it simple and the low cost comes from the Scandinavian ethos of shipping products in flat packs.
