Rhino Fire Protection Engineering, PLLC (Rhino) is a small business enterprise founded in March 2007 by three licensed Fire Protection Engineers with over 68 years of experience at the time of founding. Rhino’s sole practice is Fire Protection Engineering, Design, and Consulting. Rhino has been continually conducting fire protection engineering services for 15 years.
Rhino FPE combines the customer service of a small business with the capabilities of a large company. All of Rhino’s principals as well as all of our engineers are graduates of the highly regarded University of Maryland’s Department of Fire Protection Engineering. Senior Professionally Registered Engineering staff in addition to the three partners, add another 70+ years of combined engineering experience, making Rhino FPE a very robust Fire Protection Design, Consulting, and Project Management Team.

Rhino currently employs a staff of 20 including eight (8) Professionally Registered Fire Protection Engineers, two (2) degreed Fire Protection Engineers, four (4) full-service Computer-aided Design personnel, as well as scheduling and administration specialists and other support staff. Rhino’s CAD staff has been utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM), Revit platform since 2009. Rhino’s Engineers are professionally licensed in multiple states and the District of Columbia and can obtain any other required state license. All Rhino Engineers have domestic and international design, design/build, and commissioning experience in a variety of public and private market sectors. Rhino has the flexibility to adapt to any size of project. We provide services at any project stage for existing and new facilities from conceptual design through conditions assessment, code consulting, design of fire protection systems, construction phase, and commissioning.
