Eric Fallabel

Naval Test Wing Atlantic Executive Director

Eric Fallabel serves as the Executive Director of Naval Test Wing Atlantic (NTWL), an Echelon IV Command within the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD). NTWL is composed of approximately 4000 civilian, military and contractor personnel who conduct developmental test for the Navy and Marine Corps. Mr. Fallabel is the senior civilian leader of this organization, responsible for overall developmental test and evaluation of naval aviation capabilities.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Fallabel served as the NTWL Deputy Director. In that position, he led technical innovation in Test and Evaluation (T&E), technical and investment oversight for NTWL operations, T&E integration into Science and Technology development activities within and outside of NAVAIR and led strategic engagement in major future test programs. From October 2021 through October 2023, Mr. Fallabel was also dual hatted as the Technical Director for NTWL.

He previously served as the Assistant Program Executive Officer (PEO) for T&E in PEO Unmanned Aviation and Strike Weapons. There, he provided technical leadership and direction of T&E efforts for the PEO and six program offices and worked with counterparts at Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division to deepen partnerships for the development of innovative T&E strategies.

Previously, he served in a variety of leadership roles throughout nearly ten years on the CH-53K King Stallion program: Assistant Program Manager for T&E in PMA-261, Air Vehicle T&E Lead and Flying Qualities Team Lead/Technical Specialist on the Integrated Test Team. He was a primary flight test engineer in the telemetry room for the first ground tests and first flight of the helicopter and led the Air Vehicle team through the Milestone C decision, the envelope expansion program and multiple offsite test detachments. He led a major re-planning of the test program to accelerate initial operational T&E by over three years and saved hundreds of millions of dollars in T&E costs.

Mr. Fallabel began his career as a V-22 control systems design and test engineer at Boeing Rotorcraft before transitioning to NAVAIR as a V-22 flight test engineer. He served as the project engineer for V-22 test plans that developed and fielded a total redesign of the lateral axis control laws, and major upgrades to the Flight Director/Coupled Modes system. He has also been heavily involved in recruiting and development of the junior workforce.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from Penn State. Mr. Fallabel has received the Department of the Navy T&E Lead Tester Award, the DoD Defense Acquisition Workforce Individual Achievement Award for Test and Evaluation, the HX-21 Wernecke Award and the NAWCAD Mentor of the Year Award.
