NAWCWD operates more than 1.1 million acres of land ranges and multiple weapons development laboratories for the Department of the Navy at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, located 150 miles north of Los Angeles.
NAWCWD serves as the Department of the Navy's Electronic Warfare Technical Center. We operate the Point Mugu Sea Range, which includes 36,000 square miles of instrumented sea and air space and encompasses San Nicolas Island. Our facilities are located at Naval Base Ventura County, which is located approximately 60 miles west of downtown Los Angeles.
