Raytheon gets contract for AMRAAM simulation system

Sandy Scharn-Stevens, head of the NAWCWD Research and Engineering Contract Department, signs a finalized contract on Sept. 16 officially awarding Raytheon Co. $22 million for Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) simulation work. The contract, originally announced in June, was modified and defined to provide for the design, development, fabrication, installation, and integration of an all-inclusive AMRAAM hardware in the loop simulation system. This system is in conjunction with military construction project P-710V at China Lake in accordance with the 2005 BRAC Act. Seventy-five percent of the work will be performed in Tucson, Ariz., and 25 percent at China Lake. Completion is expected in September 2011.
