Air Test and Evaluation Squadron THREE ZERO (VX-30) currently operates three KC-130Ts, each with unique cargo and aerial refueling capabilities. The primary mission of VX-30’s C-130s is cargo transportation, with a secondary mission of in-flight refueling. On average, VX-30 transports over 1.7 million pounds of cargo annually to a variety of locations, including weekly runs to San Nicolas Island and occasional missions to Honolulu, HI.

VX-30 also provides in-flight refueling services to aircraft conducting operations within the Pacific Sea Test Range. VX-30’s in-flight refueling capabilities provide the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division with an organic aerial refueling platform and greatly increases its weapons test efficiency. Finally, the C-130s at VX-30 also conduct range surveillance and clearance missions, both locally and downrange, supporting numerous testing agencies.
