News Release Copy: Summer hires in the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) China Lake Renewable Energy Office are on a recent travel trip to the Navy's instrumentation complex on Santa Cruz Island (SCI), which is located within the NAWCWD Point Mugu sea range. The complex provides meteorological data collection, secure VHF/UHF radio communications and data transmission, microwave relay to/from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Laguna Peak and San Nicholas Island, and surface surveillance radar coverage of the sea range. The entire site is solar powered.
