Struggling to find the interpretation of an acronym on various external Web sites? Well, to ease the process, a new and effective tool has been developed and posted at NAWCWD's Web site; it's called an Acronym Finder.

A search for the meaning of technical terms on the numerous word search sites can be time consuming and disappointing because many of them do not include Navy acronyms or jargon China Lake employees need frequently, sometimes on a daily basis. It is especially useful for the technical and administrative communities.

The result is an acronym finder posted on NAWCWD's external Web site at http://www.nawcwd.navy.mil. On this main page, it is located at the far left column, above the link for warfighter response center.

"It is really nice to have a centralized source of acronyms in a database," said David Roy, computer scientist for RAIDER. "It would be great to see the implementation of this in wikipedia in the near future."

"I think this will be very beneficial to the work force because it displays a list of more technical terms that are hard to locate through the acronym finder," said Kelly Russell. "It is also nice to have the drop down window to view the various acronyms pertaining to a particular letter and if you want to see more, you just add another letter."
