"3-for-9"
In addition to 10 paid holidays each year, many employees take advantage of "3-for-9" opportunities. Several times throughout the year a holiday will occur or be observed during a week that also contains a flex Friday. Some employees take annual leave for the three remaining workdays of the week in order to have nine (9) consecutive days off. This has come to be known as "3-for-9"; meaning and individual takes only three (3) days of annual leave but actually getting nine (9) consecutive days off. This benefit can be taken with supervisor approval and if workload permits.
