Work Schedules

Compressed Work Schedule

(as described in NAWCWD Instruction 7420.1, Chapter 2)

Under a compressed work schedule, employees can complete their 80-hour biweekly work requirements in less than 10 workdays. The majority of employees on base (approximately 91%) adhere to the alternative work schedule. This schedule allows for a 3-day weekend every other week.

Flexible Work Schedules

The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division also offers flexible work schedules, such as:

Flexiplace Program: This program assists employees who need flexibility in work scheduling and commuting. This program permits employees to work at home or at other approved sites away from the office for all or part of the workweek, provided that their schedule is not disruptive to supervisors, co-workers, and customers.

Part-time Employment: Opportunities for employees to work part-time are available, but limited to specific positions within NAWCWD, or based on employee's needs.
