Technology Transfer

Advances made during research, development, test, and evaluation benefit both the military and industry. For more than half a century, NAWCWD focused almost exclusively on defense. Now that focus is being expanded to the commercial sector, and technology transfer is part of this new way of doing business. Through technology transfer, the Navy serves the taxpayers by making military technology available for commercial application, using such mechanisms as Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs) and Patent License Agreements.
