Arming the Fleet Brochure and eBook
Second Edition Just Released!
This dynamic Arming the Fleet (ATF) update includes 54 new pages, 167 new photos/graphics, and 1,600 additional indexed items. New topics include the National Center of Excellence, upcoming growth and new facilities, American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Historic Site designation, NAVAIR AIRSpeed successes, and operational and developmental testing highlights. A new 19-page section is devoted entirely to direct warfighter support and quick-response achievements during Operation Iraqi Freedom. All 25 WD weapons stories have been updated and the book concludes with a new story honoring our connection to Albert A. Michelson.
ATF, first released in 2004, describes WD's influence concerning more than 50 major weapon systems. The document addresses our role in Sea Power 21, and our ever-increasing role in joint and international service. It highlights what the Division does best; describes our people, ranges, and laboratories; and highlights our efforts in technology transfer and our success in preserving the environment. ATF documents the best-of-the-best of WD from WWII to Baghdad (1943-2007) and identifies WD firsts, inventions, quick-response achievements, and notable national and international recognition. Remarkably, most of the major weapons/technologies ever developed are in Fleet use today in one version or another.
Easy Desktop Research.
