Qualified Products Listing (QPL) Lab


The Wiring Qualified Products Lab (QPL) is dedicated to the testing, evaluation, and monitoring of Electrical Wiring Interconnect System (EWIS) components used on Department of Defense aircraft. The QPL group has engineering oversight for 890 electrical component specifications and manages approximately 40 QPLs involving 230 component manufacturers and over 900,000 part numbers. Wiring QPL was tasked by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) to conduct critical testing on all (EWIS-related) converted Specifications as the qualifying and testing activity. This facility provides testing of products listed on the QPL in accordance with Military and Commercial standards.

Test Equipment

The Wiring QPL lab provides for destructive testing, and non-destructive testing of products comprised of environmental chambers (altitude chamber, cold bend chamber, salt/fog chamber, etc.), visual inspection equipment, (microscopes, comparator, etc.) as well as mechanical test equipment (calorimeter, shock and vibration, etc.).
