NAVAIR at Joint Base MDL is located at the Lakehurst
portion of the base, formerly known as Naval
Air Engineering Station Lakehurst.
The Lakehurst location has
a rich, multi-decade heritage as the nation's lighter-than-air
center. NAVAIR at Lakehurst compliments this heritage
through its responsibility as the DoD's
Aircraft Platform Interface expert. The 42,000 acre
Joint Base MDL complex facilitates the availability of
efficient cross-service resources and is strategically located in the
populous northeast corridor, near New York City and
Philadelphia.
