Commander, Naval Air Systems Command will hold an Acquisition Corps Assignment Slating Panel on 14 May 2013 to select qualified individuals for the positions listed below. Quad charts for each command are currently being updated and will be available via the AEDO Community Manager NLT 30 days prior to the application due date.

UNRESTRICTED LINE MAJOR PROGRAM MANAGER ELIGIBLE SELECTION BOARD
Commander, Naval Air Systems Command will hold an Aviation Acquisition Corps (AC) Unrestricted Line (URL) Major Program Manager (MPM) Eligible Selection Board on 13 MAY 2013 to select qualified individuals to enter the Aviation AC URL MPM Eligible career path.
NAVADMIN 165/09 established the Aviation AC URL MPM career path to develop a select group of Aviation AC URL officers to achieve statutory requirements for Major Program Management selection while remaining competitive for sequential Major Acquisition Command slating.
For officers to serve in MPM positions, a minimum of 48-96 months of experience in acquisition coded or related billets is required. Additionally, officers need to possess the necessary Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) qualifications to manage the development, acquisition, and life cycle support of current and future Naval platforms and associated systems.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR AVIATION AC URL MPM ELIGIBILITY:
- Aviation Command Screen Board (ACSB) selected
- Acquisition Corps (AC) Membership or AC Eligible (must achieve 48 months of acquisition time by the end of their command tour)
- DAWIA Level II Career Field certification

Selection
MPM Eligible selection will not obligate officers to enter the Aviation AC URL MPM career path. Officers selected as MPM Eligible will be notified and must accept by official correspondence.
Accepted officers will compete for Major Program Manager Command and Major Acquisition Shore Command, but will not compete for Aviation Major Operational Command. Additionally, due to acquisition related experience requirements, the Joint Specialty Officer (JSO)/Joint Qualified Officer requirements for appointment to O-7 will be waived IAW the Science & Technology waiver outlined in MILPERSMAN 1301-700.
Officers who are selected as MPM Eligible but do not accept by official correspondence will not be considered for future acceptance into the Aviation AC URL MPM career path. Officers who do not accept MPM Eligible or were not selected may continue to apply for acquisition billets through normal detailing and slating processes.
