	In August 2007, the first E-2D Advanced Hawkeye flew on a date scheduled four years earlier. Currently there are two E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft in flight test at NAS Patuxent River, and the production of the first three pilot production aircraft continues ahead of schedule.<br />

	The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye completed its first Operational Assessment ahead of schedule at Northrop Grumman’s St. Augustine Manufacturing Center, St. Augustine, Fla., on Oct. 28, 2009. Operational Assessments are conducted to verify that aircraft system’s capability, suitability and design will be fully responsive to the future needs of the carrier air strike group.</p>

The use of the new glass cockpit and tactical fourth operator display allows the five-person crew more flexibility in fulfilling these diverse missions.</p>
