NAWCAD Lakehurst honors employees for exemplary service

JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. - The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst recently recognized three members of its workforce for exemplary service in support of the fleet.

Dominick Branco, Saundra Mason and Man Wai Wong received the Department of the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award for their performances in Support Equipment (SE) programs.

The Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award recognizes exemplary performance, outstanding achievements and contributions of value to the U.S. Navy, and is the third highest honorary award under the Department of the Navy Civilian Awards program.

Branco serves as the Common Support Equipment and Peculiar Support Equipment (CSE/PSE) Installation Engineering Team lead as well as the Naval Modernization/Site Activation (NM/SA) subject matter expert in the NAWCAD SE Installation Branch. He was recognized for his knowledge and advice to senior leadership and support for CSE/PSE installations aboard U.S. Navy ships, shore activities and Mobile Maintenance Facilities (MMFs) worldwide, according to his award citation.

Mason serves as the senior mechanical engineer in the Research and Engineering Group, SE/Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) Department, SE Engineering Division, Airborne Weapons SE Branch. She was recognized for her expertise in the design, development, integration and in-service engineering of a broad spectrum of Armament and Weapons SE, according to her award citation.

Wong serves as the senior cryogenics engineer in the SE Engineering Division, Aircraft Servicing Branch. He was recognized for his expertise in the design, development, integration and in-service support of various oxygen and nitrogen systems, according to his award citation.

Director of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), SE/ALRE Department Kathleen P. Donnelly presented the awards to the recipients on behalf of NAWCAD Commander Rear Adm. Shane G. Gahagan during a Dec. 11 ceremony.

“This honor represents the exemplary work ethic you have demonstrated over the course of your careers and reflects great credit on you and the U.S. Navy,” said Donnelly.
