MARINE CORPS AIR STATION, CHERRY POINT, N.C. – Members of the media are invited to attend Fleet Readiness Center East's 75th Anniversary ceremony here, Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 at 10 a.m.

The ceremony will feature speeches by Lt. Gen. Steven R. Rudder, Marine Corps Deputy Commandant for Aviation; and FRC East Commanding Officer Clarence T. Harper III; a cake cutting ceremony with the newest and oldest FRC East serving employees; and music by the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing band.

FRC East is North Carolina's largest industrial employer east of Interstate 95 with nearly 4,000 civilian, military, and contract workers. The organization’s payroll approaches $354 million dollars a year.  The organization is a Naval aviation maintenance and repair depot under the Naval Air Systems Command headquartered in Patuxent River, Maryland.  It is one of eight Fleet Readiness Centers located around the globe.  FRC East facilities include detachments at Marine Corps Air Station in New River, North Carolina, and Beaufort, South Carolina and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey.

Media will meet at MCAS Cherry Point’s Main Gate at the parking lot at Pass and I.D. at 9:30 a.m. and be escorted aboard the Air Station on the day of the event.
