NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND, Patuxent River, Md. -- Rear Adm. Mark Darrah, commander of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, presents Tony Cifone, the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) deputy assistant commander for Research and Engineering, with the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award on Jan. 30 at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Md.  Vice Adm. Phillip Cullom, deputy chief of naval operations for Fleet Readiness and Logistics, awarded the medal remotely by phone. Cifone was recognized for his efforts with alternative energies and fuels while serving as director of Propulsion and Power for NAVAIR. The Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award is the third-highest civilian employee honor in the Department of the Navy for service and highly beneficial contributions to the Department.  (U.S. Navy photo by Steve Kays)
