CMDCM (SW/AW) Joel Rodriguez
A native of Woodland, California, Master Chief Rodriguez enlisted in the Navy in January 1993. Upon completion of Basic Training and Aviation Maintenance Administration (AZ) “A” School in Meridian, MS he reported as an AZAR to the Gunfighters of Fighter Squadron (VF) 124 at NAS Miramar in San Diego, Calif.
Upon completion of his shore duty, he attended AZ “C” school in Millington, Tenn. before reporting to the USS Boxer (LHD 4) for sea duty. His other sea duty assignments include the USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and Commander, Naval Air Forces, U. S. Pacific Fleet, and the USS Higgins (DDG 76).
Master Chief Rodriguez’s shore duty assignments include the Grim Reapers of Fighter Squadron (VF) 101 Detachment Miramar, Fleet Aviation Specialized Operational Training Group, Pacific Fleet (FASOTRAGRUPAC) San Diego, Calif. and Commander Helicopter Anti-Submarine Wing, U. S. Pacific Fleet (COMHSCWINGPAC) San Diego, Calif. Master Chief Rodriguez was assigned to Fleet Readiness Center Southwest, San Diego, Calif. in June 2017.
Master Chief Rodriguez was selected to Chief Petty Officer in 2002, the Command Senior Chief program in 2012, is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, and earned his Associated Degree in Business Administration from Vincennes University, Vincennes, Ind.
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards) and various service and campaign awards.
