The Components Program at Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRC Southwest) is the preferred choice for Legacy and Technology Cutting Edge Component repair. With an overhaul and repair capability of 11,713 unique items, we stand at the forefront of supplying the component needs for the US Navy's Aircraft and for many customers worldwide. Experienced artisans produce nearly 37,000 component parts annually for use as critical parts in the Navy Supply System and for programs at FRC Southwest and other repair facilities at home and abroad. ![]() LANDING GEAR/HYDRAULICS Inspection, repair and refurbishment, testing, packaging and shipping of components is handled with precision, ensuring the maximum safe flight hours available at a major cost savings when compared to replacement. AIRCRAFT SUPPORTS & SURFACES With our capabilities in manufacturing and composites (including three Large Capacity Autoclaves) we repair many different Aircraft Flight Control Surfaces and Structures, including Flaps, Ailerons, Horizontal Stabilators, Rudders, and Structural Integrity Panels and Components. We also repair, manufacture and overhaul many other support structures, including: Inner and Outer Wings for the F/A-18, Canopies and Windscreens, Fuel Tanks, Ejection Seats, Fire Bottles and related Egress Systems for many aircraft. INSTRUMENTS/GENERATORS The ability to control aircraft is dependant on the information supplied to the pilot through the instrumentation. These critical devices are repaired, over-hauled, tested and calibrated to exacting specifications at FRC Southwest. ![]() AIMD The Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Detachment (AIMD) at FRC Southwest provides the first line of component repair support to the Navy's operating units both afloat and ashore. Because of its proximity to the operating units and focused repair mission, AIMD is the most responsive and least costly sourcing alternative for aviation repairable components to meet fleet requirements. |
